Wayne Layral
Head Coach
Head Coach, Wayne Layral was
the Co-Founder of CCAQ along with 10 families and their 17
children back in April of 1999. Now, coming up on 11 years,
we have about 200 children and 140 families. Coach
Wayne comes from a swimming background as his Father and older
brother both coached teams. He was Nationally
ranked and a High School All - American who attended the University of
Wyoming on a full-ride athletic scholarship. He has coached
High School swimming and Water Polo and has been Head
Coach of three different swimming teams locally. Coach Wayne
has coached some very gifted young ladies and young men on our
team over the last 10 years as the Senior coach. Several of our
girls have made it to Jr. Nationals, four to Nationals where
two have placed in the Top 8 and three have made Olympic Trial
times cuts. All four girls entered into the 2008 Olympic Trials.
Two of these girls are still swimming at USC and did well at
NCAA's. One swimmer made the National Junior Team and swam in
Austraila for the USA. Our boys have also done well under his
charge, having several of them making it onto the Top 16
National list , with more of them to the Top 16 Southern California
list.
